Like cats and videos, some things are just better together. Only Microsoft Edge has your personal assistant, Cortana , built right in. On pages where she can help, she’ll show up in the address bar with suggestions. Click her message, and she can help you to: Make plans for dinner out. On restaurant websites, Cortana can point you to hours, directions, contact info, and menus.
Microsoft Edge is the best browser that lets you take notes, write, doodle, and highlight directly on webpages. Then you can save and share your handiwork in all the usual ways. Make notes on recipes, send your partner “subtle hints” about birthday gifts, or just draw mustaches on celebrities—the web is your canvas.
How do I know whether to trust a website in Microsoft Edge?
If you see a lock button next to a website’s address in Microsoft Edge, it means:
– What you send and receive from the website is encrypted, which makes it difficult for anyone else to get this information.
– The website is verified, which means that the company running the site has a certificate proving they own it. Click the lock button to see who owns the site and who verified it.

Change the default search engine in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft suggest using Bing for an enhanced search experience in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Keeping Bing as your default search engine gives you:
Direct links to Windows 10 apps, taking you straight to your apps faster.
More relevant suggestions from Cortana, your personal digital assistant.
Instant help to help you get the most out of Microsoft Edge and Windows 10.
But Microsoft Edge uses OpenSearch technology, so you can change the default search engine.
Move items from the Reading List app to Microsoft Edge
New browser in Windows 10 includes new built-in reading list in Microsoft Edge. If you used the Reading List app in Windows 8.1 and you’ve now upgraded to Windows 10, move best items from the old app over to Microsoft Edge.
In the Reading List app, select an item to open it in Microsoft Edge. (If it opens in a different browser, first go to Start, then Settings > System > Default apps and change your default web browser to Microsoft Edge.)
In Microsoft Edge, select the star icon, select Reading list, then select Add.
